So true it is amazing how we can pay high rates for prison workers more than we pay our teachers to educate our children making 5.44 an hour do not watch economic s and something need to be done about that hourly rate .I believe the president will not work for such a low wage .

Those immigration restrictions are far outweighed by the illegals that are given jobs and housing. They can work here and return home and collect social security…. I know two that did that. I’m 68 and you can check government records how many checks and ($’s) are sent abroad

There will never again be a baby-boomer generation and the millennial’s are being taught to get the best education and get off minimum wages asap. This said, the high school kids should be paid more to survive high school expenses and build some self-esteem.

“Frozen birth rates” ? just a day ago we learned that the 15 year old kid shot and killed in Mobile came from a single parent family with 15 children. Where on earth does the idea come from there are not enough young kids to fill minimum wage jobs? The problem is they do not want to work and they do not have to when everything is given to them for free. Try to hire a teenager for $10 or $12/hour to do some yard work – can’t find one, lady! But it’s not because there are not plenty of idle kids around.

I am 67 and worked my way through school on minimum wage jobs, but in 1968 that wage today would almost be 12 dollars an hour. The truth is that 10k babyboomers are retiring a day which made Obama’s and Trump’s unemployment numbers foolish as folks are simply filling all the retiring babyboomers, and with restrictions on legal immigration and frozen birthrates, we have a massive labor shortage growing and our ‘gdp is being negatively impacted. The truth is that despite government efforts, the minimum wage jobs are not going to be filled and raises will follow. this mess will be pawned off as success when babyboomers continue to retire over the next decade, as that large population bubble skews everything and unemployment numbers mean nothing with 10k retiring every day and jobs not being filled.
