all drug crimes are violent crimes. where do you think people get the money for drugs. somewhere along the line somebody gets mugged, beat up or killed, druggies will do anything for drugs.

Maybe some of you fine folks stating that she just needs help could post her bail and let her live with you. Maybe you could make sure she gets back and forth to counseling and help pay the restitution for past and future crimes so she can have a fresh start.

She needs help, she needs jail, she needs, she needs……..blah, blah, blah. What she TRULY needs is the desire to get out of her “situation”. You just can’t help someone who doesn’t want the help. Until SHE decides it’s enough nothing will change her except death(sad but true) hopefully she’ll realize that, quit falling victim to the same people, grow up and own her situation.Then she’ll be ready to seek out and accept “help”.

Yes, Valene was a sweet and beautiful child. Yes, she grew up into a troubled woman. Yes, she’s had a lot of legal and drug problems.

Honestly, she needs rehab AND serious therapy AND getting away from that area to get herself straightened out.

This woman has been in and out of jail 50 (FIFTY) times!!!! What is the limit for keeping her there? She obviously has no respect for the law or other people’s property. She is not repentant (50 times) and eventually someone will be hurt or killed either in arresting her or by her or the drugs she sells. I’m sure she was a sweet girl, but she hasn’t been sweet in a long time. Throw her in and throw away the key.

Check out the Escambia County Florida Clerk of Court page. 50, yes 50 times she has been in and out of court. 8 of those cases are still open. Come on people this woman needs more than what she can get in rehab!

CONSIDERING:
“This woman needs help, not jail. ”

Other people need windshields. It is possible you can not always have both.

Jail does not exist solely to lead a soul to repentance.
Sometimes it exists to protect others from violent people or people who prey on others.

(By the way, just because someone is carrying drugs does not automatically mean they are addicts. Sometimes it just means they haven’t sold out yet — not that this may or may not apply here. The drugs could have been planted every time.)

Do you people even read the news story before you comment or did you just see “Drugs” and start defending the suspect?

No one is oppressing the suspect. She made choices and there are consequences for those choices.

The system is totally broken. This woman needs help, not jail. We are bankrupting this nation with locking up people rather than solving problems with non violent offenders. She was violent breaking the window, but really this person is probably just one more person who has drug issues, and jail does not solve drugs. She will become unglued again if not given some proper therapy and counseling. Sometimes it takes something as simple as authorities who are intelligent and try something different because jail sure has not worked and this political environment which demands we get raw meat off the streets and into jail because that shows how tough we are on crime…..we are not tough at all…..the system is bankrupting us with a huge criminal justice system, where we dump human beings into a system who are basically addicted and non violent. We need to focus on violent crime and dangerous pathological offenders who get released back into the public and hurt people……….this person needs help, and we all will be better when she gets it.
