Chris, you are right on with your comment. We were traveling east on Fairfield and some guys were standing around the corner with cardboard signs and sad faces. Our family policy is to NOT give money of any sort to them. Sometimes they can become aggressive as far as stepping away from the curb and into the edge of traffic to beg for money.
The kids have offered to go to a sub sandwich store or McDonald’s and get them something to eat and have been yelled at by the sign-holders for that, they only want money.
Sad the guy got killed yet like the many who are in the streets at night in dark clothing it is a Godsend that more are not injured or killed.
Drivers must be aware at ALL times.
