There needs to be a green arrow light to turn left and not be able to turn on green after yielding. My mother was almost hit by a driver turning left onto 97 when she was traveling southbound and a “yielding” driver did not yield.
I have personally witnessed several times when this has happened.
Yielding on green to turn left does not mean go unless you are 100% sure there are no other right of way drivers you are putting at risk.
Left turn on green arrow only should help that intersection.

speed limit has to be 40 or less a mile from that intersection to reduce these high speed collisions

I was one of the guys who helped rip the door off of the van in an attempt to get Mrs. Wolfe out of the vehicle that was on fire at the time. Once the flames were extinguished, we supported her neck and waited for fire rescue. I am so sorry for the family’s loss. I will tell you this, even with the vehicle on fire the husband never left her side. God Bless you Mr. Wolfe!
