I use to attend every home game I could possible back when I was in high school, I moved and have a family of my own but I still follow the Hurricanes. Congrats guys, a job well done. Coach V you finally got what you deserve, hopefully next year can be the same way. Go Canes!

My son graduated from Flomaton in 1996. He played varsity football, as a starter, for four years. He was a big boy and strong as an ox. The team never made it to the last round of the playoffs and I was forced to pick up the pieces each time.

Now? He’s over 40, living in Colorado. He follows his Canes very closely. And when they won the state championship, a lot of tears were shed by all of us. We don’t know any of the young players now, but the coach and the team have given us a gift we thought we’d never have. GO CANES!!!

In all the years my son has played with the Flomaton Hurricanes, the picture above has to be my most treasured. These boys worked hard to prove to all the ones who doubted them, that they belonged in those playoff brackets. I cried out of happiness, winning a championship your last time on a high school field is an amazing feat. I cried out of sadness, knowing it was the last time I would see him suit up in that Canes #11 uniform (and boy that was hard). And I cried knowing that my "baby boy" is going to make one heck of a man! Congratulations Hurricanes!
