They present it as a way of keeping us safe as we perform our jobs. The real reason is so we are at fault if there are any type of accidents. We are warned against everything from dog bites, weather conditions, driving, uneven surfaces, and I could continue this list for hours. At any delivery I could find something that is unsafe to USPS. You go through endless amounts of training saying avoiding backing as much as possible. Park on the curb, curb your tires, e brake, lock the vehicle, take package to door, if its heavy use a dolly.
