What I did NOT see was any wording that could possibly be construed as insinuating the tree caused the accident. There are no misused words that could imply such a thing. Then I read the comments, which all make it seem that this was some cute little antic to be made light of. I fail to see the humor in this. First and foremost, it doesn’t say that the driver wasn’t injured, only that he was not SERIOUSLY injured and he chose not to go to the hospital by ambulance. Unless I’m unconscious and unable to state differently, I’d do the same. Ambulance bills are outrageous! Second, even if the driver was completely uninjured, this accident is going to cost some money, insurance deductible, higher premiums and rental vehicle, for starters. Yes, insurance may reimburse for a rental, but still, this is going to cost him. Third, the cause has not been stated, so this could have been a blown tire, mechanical failure or even a medical emergency. Making light of someone’s tragedy is in very poor taste. One day I was driving down the road and a renegade bush jumped off the back of a truck and I ran smack dab over it. He held onto my car for awhile but let go after a mile or two. I think I killed it. I say we wire the governor and rally for a convoy of lumberjacks to eradicate the rebel trees lurking on the side of that deadly stretch of road. I will not rest until the trees cease to exist.
