I feel your pain . …I’m tired of paying taxes so that other people’s kids can go to school or pay for safe bridges or highways I will never use or ER visits because someone had the audacity to get sick and didn’t have insurance. Wahwahwah

Get a grip people! I’m paying in now because I might have children some day and I might need to cross that bridge someday and I pay for other people’s medicaid now because I may need it someday. If I don’t need it maybe somreone in my family will need it someday. It’s a lot cheaper for me to pay my part now than to fork up more money later.

Too bad Rick Scott turned down that money from the feds to expand medicaid. I know people here need it more than anywhere. But, you get what you vote for. No, whining allowed if you voted against yourself because you hate seeing other people benefitting from your tax dollars! Smh

Jason, I hope you never get too sick to work, or have children with very high medical expenses, so that you are forced to use Medicaid yourself. Most cancer patients end up on Medicaid. Then imagine how you would like it if someone ignorantly told you to just “get a better job”, “live within your means”, “find a way to better yourself”.

Yes, you took the words right out of my mouth. NW Florida voted for exactly what they got . . . . when your family member gets cancer, take a couple aspirin and go back to work. The “code words” for smaller government really mean NO SERVICES and the northern part of the county will always be the hit first.

Pretty soon we can start playing the youtube videos on how rural people from KY pull their own teeth with pliers and the general life expectancy will drop to 65.

No health coverage for pre-existing conditions because they’ve convinced 300,000 that 20 immigrants are also getting medical services illegally in some way . . . . yet they never produce those people for prosecution. Mysteriously they escape and are never mentioned again until next election. The ER will be the primary physician for a whole lot of people.

Hey chillywilly…. the expansion of medicaid comes at a great expense to us “average joe” taxpayers. To meet the requirement for those additional Federal funds required money from the State of Florida. Three options: The legislature cuts money from other programs to pay these increased medicaid cost; OR the ask taxpayers to pony up more money to pay the increased medicaid costs; OR they ask service providers to take a lower re-reimbursement to cover the increased medicaid cost.

At what point do tax payers and service providers say enough is enough? How deep do you need to dig into my pocket to continue to take the money I earn to pay for your expenses?

I can help you though. If you are unsatisfied with the level of services provided to Floridians, and you think you can do better in another state, feel free to move to somewhere you can do better at the expense of other taxpayers. Otherwise, do like so many of us are doing. We Live within our means, We go out and find that better paying job and pay for the stuff we need.

I shake my head in amazement at all those who think their friends and neighbors, as well as people they never met, should pony up more money to cover the costs for those who fail to find a way to better themselves and continually reach out asking for more and more money. You should be grateful for whatever services you are receiving. Nothing in life is free. Somebody is always paying th tab.

This is what Northwest Florida voted for. No Expansion of Medicaid. Some other state will get the federal money. The Health Dept has been destroyed.and underfunded for years. Thanks to Rick Scott
That’s why the School Health Program was shuttered. At one time Escambia
County had Registered Nurses in every school, Taking care of disabled and special needs children. and doing health screenings . This is the will of the people, at least in Northwest Florida.. These children s oral health will deteriorate and will end up in hospital emergency rooms. Kiss your pre– existing conditions protections good bye . Every Medical claim filed on your medical insurance will be denied. as a pre-existing condition.
This is a tactic used by insurance companies to not pay claims. Get ready for it.
