The problem is we focus on crime tools, when we should focus on the criminal, if he had rented a Uhaul and ran down a dozen people screaming alu-akbar he would get less news exposure than if he used a gun. Also what about his (criminal history)….we blame guns , but why is he walking around amongst us??? The failures lie elsewhere not in the guns. The failures lie in how we decide to handle criminals. If he would have been executed or imprisoned after his third conviction (Now on his sixth) we wouldn’t even be on this forum talking about this!

@Just Saying, the prisons are full of individuals just like him, and as far as serving their time and paying their debt to society, loosing your right to vote or carry a firearm is surrendered at the time of conviction and that’s part of the debt owed to society as well as the sentence handed down by the judge. Most of the people locked up in jail/prison has been given one chance after another. For the few that have straightened out their lives and left the life of crime, well their just doing what every law abiding citizen is doing, so no party for them. And I doubt most have repaid restitution to the victims and that includes the tax payers money it took to prosecute or represent not house them.

This has nothing to do with restoring his rights. This has to do with him committing felony after felony.

The whole restoration thing is about returning rights to people who have served their time and paid their debt to society and go on to become productive members of society NOT for people who embrace the criminal life.

“A felony is suppose to involve a victim. Possessing a firearm is a right not a felony.”

So, since he’s a convicted felon do you suppose he should be able to vote? To hold public office? Child molesters should be able to live where they want right next to an elementary school or playground?

There are certain rights which you give up when you’re convicted of certain crimes. The requirements under which the government can abridge rights is in the same constitution as the 2nd Amendment.

I don’t know how we would go about doing it, but the citizens of this country need to take back our judicial system, and completely overhaul the criminal justice system. The citizens are certainly not the beneficiaries of justice these days.

Put him BACK in prison for the rest of his life, quit putting citizens in harms way by chronic felons, and get rid of those put in positions of public trust collecting a paycheck under false pretense’s. Absolute stupidity on the part of the justice system…NO EXCUSES WHY THIS FELON IS NOT BEHIND BARS.
