it wouldnt matter if they changed the law or not we would still have people gripping about it! then yall would say they werent paying anyone lottery money if they didnt post peoples names!

If all of that information is released it would be very easy to get the address and other somewhat private information on the person. They do need to change the law. I’m sure she will have everyone coming out of the woodwork to get a piece of the prize money.

Florida Lottery winners cannot remain anonymous. Florida law mandates that the Florida Lottery provide the winner’s name, city of residence, game won, date won and amount won to any third party who requests the information; however Florida Lottery winners’ home addresses and telephone numbers are confidential.

Absolutely agree with tooma, publishing the winner’s name or concern for their safety especially those that win large sums are secondary intentions – it’s all about the hype of the win. You have to remember the lottery is big business, generate excitement for the game, sell those tickets. Bottom line – Publishing names of winners does put them in jeopardy. It’s all about the money the one and only reason a winner may get preyed upon.

Releasing winners names maybe their policy, but in this day and age there are too many scumbag criminals out there that would kill for that money. Contrary to popular belief it should be nobody’s damn business about who wins a jackpot.

There is a law…that says the Florida Lottery releases ALL names. (Where do you think the name came from?)
