Where is the Rock? Without Rock that close to the channel, did someone who did the government inspection really think that the design flaw of paving over dirt on an incline was going to hold up? The whole bridge engineering and inspection services appear to me to lack common sense, but heck.......at least this bridge did not collapse while pouring the concrete. Practice makes perfect and the bridge deficits are enormous so hopefully qualified people will get involved in supervision and inspection of these bridges. We replace a bridge that lasted over sixty years with one that lasts barely over six months without what appears to be a big issue.I just hope we don't have the bridge closed down for repairs that I am sure would take another six months of detours.
