If only they could see The big picture..you obviously can not get there..Wow, “Really common sense is an amazing Tool. For judgement calls.When elected by the people you call idiots to make decisions that are in the best interest of our community as whole.That includes desisons about the safety of our children..Your common sense Reguardless its A little On the low low..I’m just calling it how I see it. To top it off you calling parents/guardians idiots…Yes indeed .I hope you are not really as ignorant as your comments make.you seem. That may be wishful thinking on my part. I’m doubtful!
@ Jay…the road conditions and the flooding mixed with high school kids driving ..not to mention all the road work..and the stop lights out all over the main roads our children travel to get to school. A Woman lost her life due to water across the road on 29 in the Tate school zone.a few years back.and a few more people risk their lives to save another..so take your child to school. I’m certain the concerns of parents were more than just a rainy day..and getting wet..but you seem to be one of those that want the kid out of your hair more than concerns of a tropical storm near hurricane status weather conditions worsening by the minute over night, all the warnings..and still warnings this morning. I think its a bad chioce of wording on your part.This has nothing to do with getting a little wet on normal rainy days..nor does it have anything to do with pansies .Try some common sense it makes a huge difference in intelect.

For those who want to knock the Superintendent for closing schools yesterday, think about this. That action was more about driving high profile vehicles (like a school bus) in the tropical storm force winds that were forecasted to arrive before noon. I mean, come on folks, we live in the south, we will have rain just about every day.

My daughter is grown now. If she wasn’t, I certainly wouldn’t send her to school tomorrow after the weather we’ve had and still going to have during the night!
The roads are not going to be safe. No one should be out except crews cleaning up our roads first! Not counting other problems caused by this storm!
Safety, should always come first for our children!

You people are unbelievable. Mr. Thomas has a bigger responsibility on his shoulders than most of you can even fathom. He erred on the side of caution in the best interest as it was posed yesterday. Not knee-jerk or uninformed. He may change his mind for tomorrow based on what has happened today. He’s not there to make you all happy. He’s there and assumes responsibility for your kids daily. Some kids that even their parents can’t be responsible for. He’s in a lose/lose battle with most of the idiots in this area on a daily basis. Try filling the mans shoes for a day and make the best decisions for the masses, not the few. Meanwhile, take responsibility for yourselves and multiply that by ten thousand. You couldn’t hold the weight.

Superintendent Thomas our kids shouldn’t have to go to school in this type of condition be realistic here they go to the bus stop they get soaked they get off the bus and walk into school that get soaks they gone need a boat and duck waiter just to get to and walk to clas to class during school
