The fact that the SWAT sergeant will face severe discipline is already in the works for a number of broken procedures. This is not normal practice but in this case, there wasn’t any really safe protective measures in place to keep this weapon off the streets. A number of weapons are stolen weekly from unlocked vehicles in Escambia County but this guy should know better. I don’t bet he gets any special treatment based on this being it was released to the media. I’m sure there is some type of internal process that must take place but there isn’t a right or a need for this guy to be named for a public flogging.
