Well I would say thank you Senator McClain for your distinguished military service. But I will not be missing his presence in the Senate for the simple fact you do not go against GOP backed principles simply because you do not care for the sitting US president. And as a side note they surely does not need or deserves to have a federal building named after himself.

It says a lot when people look down on an man who actually served his country and put it before himself. Then they eagerly line up behind a spiteful president who puts his emotions and desires before his country and everyone else (his wife included).

Doing many great things don’t matter at this point…..what does matter is did he make it into the kingdom of heaven? In whose care did he put his soul? Did he prepare for this day that we will all face. I’m only trusting in Jesus on that day.

@Brian and @dreamboatannie. I totally agree.

McCain was a patriot and pow. We appreciate his service and condolences to his family,BUT somewhere along the way he left his love for the people of this great country.

How sad he became a Rhino(Republican in name only) and voted against everything that would Make America Great Again.

I am a Democrat, I can honestly say McCain was one of the good ones. It is hard to find or say that a Politician in this day and age is honest or has integrity or empathy toward others, but he did. He showed compassion in the office he held and that is something in short supply.

He found out during the presidential election that race trumps gender. Obama was given a pass and Sarah Palin was crucified in the press by Katie Couric. Hillary learned this lesson as well when she faced off against Obama.

I still admired John McCain and have nothing but profound respect for him.

Good man of integrity even if he was on the opposite side of politics. He told the truth even if his own presidential campaign would be at risk. He took the side of the American people even if his party would not have liked it. I will always remember McCain for that. Thank you and God bless.

While I agree with the statesman title, the hero thing, missed me with that. Yes, he suffered. However, I believe he gave up info and was treated better than most. But but, he did this or that. Kind of hard not to go to war when your father and grandfather were high ranking military. Who else would do the same when put in his position, probably most of us. Not taking away he was and extraordinary man with great accomplishments. Hero …….no.
