It is an official "county road" that leads to one house. At least these residents are willing to pay the county for these services. The taxpayers should not be paying anything, and all across this country MSBUs are taking over road responsibilities because HOA during the downturn and foreclosures had a difficult time collecting HOA fees. This actually will keep property values up with a good road, which means higher assessments and more tax revenue. Win/win. They must be unwilling to form an HOA for their road to do it privately. Areas to be improved that are currently private require proof of ability to transfer the area to public ownership and must be submitted as part of the application for establishment of an MSBU.
