" And yet, millions of parents somehow do. If people do what can not be done, maybe it CAN be done. Having access to more information doesn’t make you more emotionally or socially mature. We are allowing young people access to social freedoms that they aren’t ready for. Just because you can operate a car doesn’t mean you are mature enough to drive one on a public highway, make decisions with a young brain that hasn’t mastered self control. Most of my friends weren’t allowed to date before sixteen. Was this best for all? I don’t know, but in looking back I know it was best for me. My parents knew my limitations. Thank God for them! They knew from experience that bad things can happen even if you think you are prepared.
