They could do the very same thing at many businesses. My husband states that at his job, with a crew of three the top two guys will actually get the same job done "faster" without the third guy. And the third guy makes $13-14/hr. He says he does less work with the third guy but would much rather work harder for splitting the third guys pay three ways, the top two and the company all get a third. When hired at his last employer, he found a way to increase production by a proven 50% by himself however, bosses were reluctant to get rid of anyone so he just went with the flow and ultimately resigned. Can anyone answer why a company wouldn't want to do the same as Century ?

@nod it really is quite simple. You just take the total amount the town would spend on that employees salary plus benefits and subtract the amount of the raises. By my calculations the raises total of about $16,600 per year. so 16600 +25000 = 41600. This means that employee would have made 41600 in salary and benefits. Should I break it down further?

Boy oh Boy... What sense does this make? You agree to hire "NEW" employees in at a higher rate that what some of your current employees make...Really council...Your just as guilty as the fingers you point. You all need to be fired or required to go back to Coach Shepherds Economics Class or to Ms Haley's general Math class. You all are ridiculous with the decisions you "all" are making. And you are worried about a budget, huhh. Right...
