Having had two teens in our family who have needed help, and seeing how hard it was to get it, I was not at all surprised by the Parkland situation. How sad for all the kids and families, and Cruz too. As Floridians we must get behind this and urge our lawmakers to fix and fund mental health and also substance abuse. When they don't get the help they need, they turn to drugs and alcohol in a desperate attempt to self medicate. Then once they're addicted, there's no help for that either. The waiting list is about 6 months long. Folks, this is the source of the problems. Gun control will not fix this. But, it can be fixed if we will get behind it.
