To read Mr. Vukelja's comment as a potential grower of medical marijuana whine over being mistreated by the Fla Legislature his words and attitude pale quickly when one sees the agonized faces of children and adults whose lives are ravaged by a wide range of medical conditions which can be nearly immediately relieved by the use of non-habit forming pot.
Friend whose son has 100+ seizures per day says he's never really gotten to know his boy because the family is forever on alert for the next sure to come episode.
One long term family friend underwent chemotherapy and was too ill to eat and had such vomiting and cramping it was impossible to imagine the loss of quality of life. Another person outside the family, met at the chemo clinic, had a connection for pot and after agonizing the legal consequences they obtained some. When the nausea and horrible gut cramping would appear they could go to a special room at home and have one or two puffs of a marijuana joint and the symptoms of her illness immediately went away.
I cannot be convinced that we don't need this medical option for our family, friends and ourselves. What is the hold up with this legislature?
Some have suggested the Fla Lawmakers haven't figured out how to best tax the weed as being a prescription medication it would not be subject to state or local taxes.
