The Deputy was passing from behind, not head-on. There are many variables to consider but when LEO is in pursuit they can be on top of you very quickly. Not many of us are at full alert level in the pre-dawn driving hours when the streets are relatively quiet. I’m guessing Ms Dewitte was as surprised as the Deputy.

I was in a fender bender last Saturday on Creighton rd. A person tried to make a u-turn across 4 lanes. When I got a rental car, the manager said they rent a minimum 15 cars a day do to accidents.
There must be a bunch of horrible drivers in Escambia county for one rental car agency to rent that amount of cars.

She must have had the radio blaring and got confused when she saw the lights
Many people panic at the sight of emergency lights. We just all freeze in place and let the ambulances go around on Davis Hwy where there is no where to move to.

Failing to yield while making a left turn???!!!! That’s it? There has to be more than that. How about careless driving for starters? Isn’t there a statute about failing to yield to an emergency vehicle? Look at all the damage she caused…incredible.
