Randy has this figured out, it’s because of poor drivers and distracted driving. It had nothing, or little to do with speed. Stop grabbing at the low hanging fruit. Bad drivers are the cause of 95% of accidents, not speeding.

Bottom line. This road is to narrow. No shoulders, very limited lighting, in the middle of nowhere with animals crossing all the time an the traffic has increased tremendously on that stretch. The only solution is to brighten it up and widen it. It’s terrible when lives have to be lost for something to happen. My heart goes out to the families of the victims. Putting law enforcement sounds good, however with the shortage of officers and crime on the rise that would be wishful thinking. Speed bumps would be a better solution.

“Police at each end and a helicopter in the middle”- No, no amount of tickets would pay for that, and nobody would use the road at that point anyway.

I know the bridge supports are suffering from scouring, and it will have to be replaced before too long. Make the road and bridge with wider lanes; traffic at that speed doesn’t need to pass so close to each other. Jack’s Branch Rd use to be bad with wrecks until they widened it; a few extra feet of wiggle room in each lane would cut out a lot of problems.

Erica is so right. Quintette Rd needs police at each end and a helicopter in the middle. The tickets would easily pay for this protection. The speed limit needs to be lowered too. It will still be a faster road because there are no traffic lights to waste time and burn fuel. This road is being included in our insurance rates going up, this has to be stopped.

I worked with Steven bailey at century c.i. from 2008 to 2013. I was very sorry to hear of his passing. I am praying for his family and may you rest in peace Steven.

We are neighbors of the Baileys and to see them so broken hearted is just awful! Steven was starting a new chapter in his life and this is one of those things you just can’t understand. Keeping them in our thoughts and prayers!
