The panhandle should make it a priority to build more private and public campgrounds. The snowbirds have changed in the last decade after the great recession. Folks who would rent a place on the beach for an off season rate of $1,200 a month are no longer affordable, but a $600 a month campsite with beautiful facilities like this park will all be filling up this winter as the tourist enjoy the natural beauty of the panhandle. The beaches are beautiful, but the natural beauty and rivers and bayous are just as beautiful, and the snowbirds can get a twofer camping enjoying both the beaches and the natural beauty of the rivers and and bayous. These campgrounds create jobs as groceries are bought, hardware, and restaurant food.......huge winner for the panhandle which off the beach is the best kept secret in the panhandle.
