Its sad it took this long to have commonsense in the area. Finally adults won’t have to deal with strange rules to prevent them from having a drink when they want . It will probably cut down on DUI, since everyone just drove to florida anyway to buy it

Agreed. I thought no alcohol after some determined time on Sundays was insane. Coming from the north Liquor stores are like churches down here, one on every corner. Drunks will drink no matter the laws. I just think its funny that religion get in the way of laws.

Alabama Blue Laws and dry counties do nothing but put people on the road driving to buy alcohol somewhere else. When Monroe county was dry it was dangerous to get on the highways on Friday and Saturday night, because half the county was driving to the package stores on the county lines to buy their booze.

People are going to buy their alcohol and cigarettes, most of the time before they worry about the mortgage payment and electric bill. Every sale that goes across county or state lines hurts the local economy.

Alabama has outlawed marijuana and other over the counter “herbs”. Colorado deposited several hundred million dollars in tax money from those sales last year. Medicaid is widely available there, almost impossible to get in Alabama unless you’re pregnant or under five years of age. The economy’s booming in the states that don’t demand everybody be a Baptist.

Stop delegating morality and start using your head, lawmakers!

I don’t see why alcohol sales is illegal on Sunday at all. Like someone else said, a true drunk will stock up on Saturday, so what difference does it make? Religion needs to stay out of politics.

It’s about time!! Change is always good, now they can improve the roads in the right territory. Especially with most of the alcohol consumption is in the area where pot holes, edge of the roads cut off. If not atmore resident be mindful, more road blocks, leading to more Dui on top of free labor.
