I thought the point of the redlight was to alleviate the issue of idiots merging from I-10? From the look of the markings on the new lanes at the light, there was a right turn and a left turn lane. So why keep the merge lanes if they have a right turn lane at the light? Did they change that to 2 left turns only? What a great way to waste more money....although, something needed to be done with the southbound exit because all the idiots in this town have no idea what a yield sign is for. I have had countless people almost run into me from failing to yield when exiting southbound on 29. So…Are they going to keep the merge lanes to 29 from I-10? I'm in a regular 4 dr. sedan and cannot see it until I'm almost on it. I realized this when the light first went up a while back and it's been flashing yellow. You don't see the yellow until it's almost too late. Even taller pickups, delivery trucks and SUVs are too tall to see it if it's red and for semis, it will be too late. I don't think even putting a horizontal light there will help much. There is something similar on Pine Forest heading south but at least you can see the light in enough time to stop. Same thing when entering I-110 from Airport. There is plenty of room to merge after the Brent exit northbound and before the Brent exit southbound but FDOT thinks we’re too stupid. Either that or they like the extra tax they get from the gasoline consumption while waiting at lights. Wonder if the I-10 E exit to 29 southbound is still going to be a thru- way instead of a stop. Someone several years passed thought it’d be a good idea to reduce 29S to 2 lanes at I-10 in order to let exiters from the 10E to 29 a lane to themselves so they don't have to stop.
