First Amendment in the Bill of Rights begins: Congress shall make NO law respecting (emphasis mine).

This restricts what Congress is allowed to do.

The Second Amendment in Bill of Rights does not limit the limitation to Congress, rather it says “the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall NOT be infringed” (emphasis mine again).

Notice it does not say CONGRESS can’t do it or ONLY states can do it or that ONLY militias have this Right, It is the supreme law of the land, agreed upon by the people to restrict ourselves from restricting each other.

In the Supreme Court ruling on McDonald v. Chicago in 2010, the Court ruled that the Second Amendment limits state and local governments to the same extent that it limits the federal government — which is what the text clearly states. Thus, legally speaking, placing any restrictions on the rights of citizens as discussed above would be an illegal law, unconstitutional and invalid.

People don’t like this fact because it restricts us in taking away rights from people we don’t trust — young citizens or people who want weapons we dislike.

What we want is to make people who would hurt us unable to hurt us. We are angry it is not possible. It would not even be possible if we did pass such legislation.

Gun legislation should NEVER be part of the State Constitution nor or State Legislation.
Gun ownership is guaranteed by the 2nd Amendment of the US Constitution in order to protect citizens from “tyranny”.
