DEW, you must not have kids at Jay. I and several parents have had many discussions regarding the lack of monitoring from the “adults” that are supposed to be teachers and mentors, especially at Jay High School. It’s sad that kids are left in a classroom without “adult” supervision.

@ those who question the charge— how would you feel if the family burned to death. I know that’s second guessing but it can be dropped later. Are it could have been your family and they burned to death. He had given this some thought and acted out in a dumb way.

Certainly what he done is not right and needs to be punished. A lot of times they will charge them with the max under the law. And argue down. BUT NOW AS FAR AS JAY SCHOOLS BEING FULL OF BULLIES THATS HOGWASH. Every school has their share just like JAY. PLUS THE PARENTS HAS A HAND IN THIS AS WELL.
THIS BOY COULD VERY WELL JUST BE USING THE FACT THAT HE HAD BEEN BULLIED AND THATS WHAT CAUSED HIM TO DO IT TO TRY AND GET OUT OF IT UNDER THE HATE CRIME LAW AS A DEFENSE. JUST SAYING.

If I had started a fire every time I got mad when I was thirteen, a few cities would have been burnt to the ground. Thirteen is the worst, confusing age. This kid needs some redirection and I hope he gets help from a caring adult.

Jay schools are notorious for BULLYING! The teachers that used to prevent it have retired and now kids are left with “adults” who play on their computers all day rather than engaging students who need to learn. It’s very sad!
