Directly from drug insert placed in Prozac:

"Suicide is a known risk of depression and certain other psychiatric disorders, and these disorders themselves are the strongest predictors of suicide. There has been a long-standing concern, however, that antidepressants may have a role in inducing worsening of depression and the emergence of suicidality in certain patients during the early phases of treatment. Pooled analyses of short-term placebo-controlled trials of antidepressant drugs (SSRIs and others) showed that these drugs increase the risk of suicidal thinking and behavior (suicidality) in children, adolescents, and young adults (ages 18-24) with Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) and other psychiatric disorders."

Not listed here are homicidal ideations that have been proven as related to these drugs (SSRIs). Canada actually has a Prozac Defense law that allows people who are on these type drugs to use that as a defense for harming others!

Let's use the term mentally ill for people who are actually mentally ill. I'm sick of that term getting thrown out there every time one of these punk thug kids does something. Most are not mentally ill!! They are simply wanna be thugs that like that thug culture and act accordingly. Let's call it what is is!! Blame game is getting old!!!

We will never be able to give 100% protection to people in public places who are at risk from mental illness and a gun. However, we should make schools a top priority on guaranteeing the safety of children. I shot every Sunday afternoon with my family at my father's sportsman gun club as a child, and was in NRA gun safety classes, but I am at the point where I would like to see a dialogue on how to improve school safety, and gun safety. My father always kept the gun case locked and my brother and I could only get guns under the supervision of our father who wanted to know how we were going to use them as we were always target shooting, but with all the love and trust in our family, my father NEVER left that gun case unlocked where we could just grab a gun. Gun ownership requires responsibility and following clear safety rules. Having kids just pick up a gun at home and take it to school starts with the person responsible for that gun, and sadly ends with tragic results. We need to put our politics aside and talk improved safety.

" ...mental illness or disability...
... sounds like he needs a community to rally behind him and get the help he needs to succeed rather than
This is the kind of stigmatization that creates psychopathic adults..."

^ All guesswork maybe. The kid might have some underlying problems that make life difficult for him but we all make choices and ought to be held accountable for them. Sounds to me like he needs some righteous & benevolent feedback like a juvenile workcamp for feral children so he can get in touch with reality. Call it "college level potty training", The kid needs to take some ownership for his own decision making. Stimulus ----> Response, repeat. Sympathy can come later. Sadly, some of these folks can never be reached. But I applaud you for being a caring individual, Cricky.

2nd-degree misdemeanor for leaving a firearm unsecured and accessible to a minor. That is the lowest of a criminal violation, one step above an infraction which is traffic related to a seat belt violation or window tint. Our laws need to be tougher regarding access to weapons and responsibility. If you own a firearm, you are responsible for its safe storage, especially if someone within your household suffers from certain mental conditions. It's the ugly truth and not to infringe on anyone's 2nd Amendment right but you buy it, your responsible for it.

My 14 year old grandson is in the hospital and I have spent a lot of time with him there. Once he was able, he was allowed to have his VIDEO games.I said something about the language in it, he stated, I hadn't really paid attention to that. He was driving a car int he game, running over people, shooting people, using the F word repeatedly. HE says he knows it is just a game not reality. BUT THERE ARE SO MANY WHO CANNOT DIFFER between the two. Parents stop letting your children play these kinds of games...get them a bicycle, basketball goal, football, anything to divert there attention away from these games... these things are babysitters too if that is YOUR PROBLEM.
I have 16 grandchildren and odds are one is going to be shot by a child in school. I DON'T LIKE THOSE ODDS, and we are so worries about bullying, I WAS a bully in school (40 years ago) but I never ever thought of taking one of those guns out of my back truck window and shooting anyone.
PRAYERS....God please held us, come back into our lives, homes and schools.
Love, Nana of 16 precious babies.

I, for one, am glad to see their pictures posted. Juvenile or not, criminals are getting younger by the day and they need to be presented for what they are. I agree, the parents names should also be incorporated as well because in a lot of cases, this could be stopped at home.

@JustSaying, God has never been removed from school - only the public prayers and stuff. If anybody wants to say a prayer, they can. If they want to live as a christian, they can. I assume you're saying that we need to teach the bible and stuff in school and if we do that, be careful what you wish for because then it's not going to just the bible. It will also be Jewish, Catholic, Muslim and you name it because you know all religions will demand, and get, equal time.

@Justin J - Paris Island don't work either. I've seen people sent there, and other military camps, for the same specific reason. If they don't want to go, a lot of them come back out a lot more trained and a lot more pissed off - how many of these mass shootings have happened and the person involved was a vet.

>>William, I know you’re simply releasing the information you’re given in press releases

Wrong. There has been no press release. We originated this article and info in it.

>> but why, if Ferguson-Resmondo is being charged as a juvenile why are media outlets releasing his name and pictures?

>> Complete information about and the mugshots of juveniles are public record in Florida when they are charged with a felony whether it be as a juvenile or adult. It's not different than an adult.

>> Why aren’t his parent’s names and pictures being posted instead?

They have not been charged with a crime.
