My condolences to the family of the Mobile driver
A quick recovery for the Pensacola family
And giving thanks to God that my friend driving the Audi
And her precious young children were not hit by the truck
I think it’s time the City understands that a traffic light

William, do you know if there were rumble strips there prior to the road being re-paved? If so, can you find out why there are none after re-paving? I think the same has occurred at the intersection of Jacks Branch and Barrineau park road.

There used to be rumble strips there. Not sure why they’re gone now.

That’s a terrible intersection. I’ve seen many accidents there over the years. Perhaps they will install a light, or a caution signal now.

A friend came from Houston, tx. & stopped bye to see us on hwy 196
( barrineau park rd ). It was after dark when he arrived but we knew he
was coming. He came from the west and pulled right in our drive. I was
outside watching & was very surprised he came from the west instead of
from the east and hwy 29. I quickly asked why he was coming from the west
and how he found our drive so easily …..he said the auto’s GPS system had
him get-off I-10 not too many miles after Mobile Bay and wound thru many,many
turns and here he was. This was a couple years ago…..so it’s easy to see
why so much more traffic not counting the DETOUR which has increased the
traffic exponentially . I’d think a large percentage of these drivers have never
been on barrineau park rd before and have no idea of what’s ahead of them.
The speed limit is 55 MPH and I’d advise to NOT walk your dog or take a stroll
on this once quiet boulevard . Wilykyote says smart government not at work here !

Special prayers for those family’s and victims involved. Tragically this is a serious event. Please call or email Escambia county reps. It’s not just this intersection that is dangerous. Accidents every day occurring even if no construction. People are not slowing down on hwy 29. Drivers will run over u or push u out of the way by riding your .. No respect for the other drivers young or old
police need to be stationed on hwy 29. that might help. Pass out citations.
