Let’s play the”maybe this happened” game on this accident. Maybe the Driver
Going the wrong way has never been on ( barrineau park ) rd before and was
directed by GPS off I-10… and ending up on Hwy 196 ( barrineau park rd. ). It’s
almost 10:00 @ night when He approaches Hwy 29 and a stop sign. Guessing again but there’s no traffic coming from the north or the south which means there’s
no other traffic for a reference of a 4 lane road with a large median. Let’s also
guess there’s no signage indicating a separated 4 lane highway. So the driver
moves out into the right lane of what he thinks is a two (2) lane road. No other
scenario makes much sense to me.

What do you expect the FHP to do give a field sobriety test to someone when they have just been in a horrible crash ? They will take his blood at the hospital and send it to the lab they will determine his blood alcohol content if it is above the legal limit then they will charge him appropriately.

At the very least he should never be allowed to get behind the wheel again, there is no excuse for this, other than being impaired in some way that he should end up traveling in the wrong direction . He is lucky that he isn’t charge with attempted vehicular manslaughter.

I hope an investigation will be thorough. There have been so many deliberate car crashes world wide. Just 3 nights ago someone drove the wrong way on 29 near 95A in Molino, crashing into the construction zone.

When all the headlights are coming towards you and there is clearly a median separating two roads—Oh what could it mean? No pulling over onto the empty center and getting one’s bearings? Oh heck no. Just crash the cars it seems….

I remember hitting a horse on this road back in the day. Very sad hope everyone is ok from this terrible accident

Now we know why auto Insurance rates are high and getting
higher ! If this kinda stuff continues we’ll be ridin horses & mules
again !
