The warming off the arctic directly contributed to the polar vortex a few years ago. An now directly contributes to the unstable jet stream bringing more moisture and cold to some areas while the opposite conditions to others like the arctic.

Folks, global warming is about overall global temps, not just the temp where you’re at. Even though we are experiencing a local cold snap, the temps across the rest of the globe are still above average.

Honest John, it’s about weather over time, not just months or even a few years. Look at the past 30 years or so. And cold weather CAN actually be a result of unusually warm weather. 2006 was the first time in history that Lake Erie did not freeze. The result was increased snowfall because more water evaporated. We have to look at patterns, not just events.
