Not much left in old galvanized or copper pipe plumbing anymore. Plumbers/Fitters are a thing of the past other than new construction or industrial settings.
A roll of PEX pipe and quality crimpers make any handyman or homeowner a plumber now days.

You must be joking. With shark bites, an eight year old child could safely repair a frozen pipe. Permits to repair a frozen pipe…….right. Youtube has videos which could assist that child, but most people(99%) can fix a frozen pipe just getting shark bite connectors and a cut to length replacement pipe.

With all the so called handymen, its laughable that you dont use a real plumber. The many screw ups I repaired from handymen caused more than they saved

Most people either effect the repairs themselves or just simply call a plumber.

A permit to fix your pipes, almost laughable, were it not so very insulting.
