The doctor gives plain instructions on how to use the pain medication and if someone goes and take more than was instructed to do so, than I believe it's there problem not the doctors or the people that are following all instructions like the doctors recommend them to. We shouldn't have to suffer with our pain, because lives was lost by there own free will.

Some people have chronic pain, health issues that require medication to attempt to have a life. They don’t choose to have burning, throbbing pain from just being alive, or sharp shooting pain when they move any joint. For some, without pain medication they are in excruciating pain many end up taking their own lives. I threw my back out years ago. Had mri, X-rays, physical therapy, injections, nothing made the pain go away for good. I was prescribed a low dose of ultram which allowed me to function normally in life. Work, kids, mild exercise. Now I get Motrin. I’m not even able to have a few pills for the days when it flares so badly I can’t get out of bed. I can’t just go to my dr and get medicine when I have flares because it all has to go through a pain management doctor, who is generally scheduled out 8weeks for appointments. When you do have a legitimate need for pain medication you are treated like a junkie every time you see a pain management doctor. I was drug tested every month, and billed $295.00 for the testing! I have missed more work in the past year, stayed home and suffered vs going out with friends, left yard and house work undone all because I choose dignity over being treated like a drug addict by doctors and pharmacist for Trying to have a normal life. I know some people are way worse off then me, they can’t get out of bed without medication. Wonder if these studies will ever show how badly they fair from these changes? How many end up taking their own lives due to pain that isn’t managed any longer?

I am so tired of being judge about pain meds. If someone is going to be addicted to something that's their problem not mine. No one has took alcohol to this level. People are addicted to it. It's a choice.

The state is trying to curb overdoses by taking meds away from people who need them, but alcohol addiction is just as prevalent and they are doing nothing about it. Opiod overdoses kill the individual, but driving under the influence can kill many. The government needs to get their priorities in order.

There are no refills for pain meds ....you have to have a hard copy prescription to get it filled...there is no calling it in...so you have to physically go to the Dr. Office get the script...go to the pharmacy.. fill it then home...that is why the Tallahassee Dr is having such a fit...as he should this is rediculous.....but they still don't want to write a script for medical marijuana which would rake many off of the pills or some would have never started....makes sense doesn't ti

So, correct me if I'm wrong. I believe what they mean by the opiod limit is that a doctor can write refills on the prescription, but you can only receive a seven day supply at a time ?
