Doesn’t surprise me about Animal control. We had a stray dog hang around our house for several days. Called Animal Control and were told to catch the dog and call them and they would come pick it up. My husband told them that wasn’t his job, but he did try to catch the dog, but couldn’t. Called AC, they said they did come out, but couldn’t find the dog. No one at our home saw them on the day stated. Said they didn’t have the time to come out, when called again and catch the dog if we couldn’t catch him and hold h[m. My husband was so frustrated, he finally caught the dog and took it to the shelter. The dog had a chip and the owner was found. Bless the small dogs left behind. I hope they are ok. God bless the neighbor who tried to help.

A Momma. Leaving an electric heater in a ramshackle wooden pen was not “thoughtful”. I will keep the rest of my thoughts about you to myself, I am sure they wouldn’t be printed. BJ. This woman works tirelessly at an animal rescue. Listening to a dog screaming as it burned to death would definitely make my worst nights list. I am not young, nor extremely blessed. YOUR compassion overwhelms me. I sincerely hope Mrs. Catterton does not see either of your remarks. Oh, by the way, I sincerely hope neither of you have any pets.

Knowing Laura and how dedicated she is to saving and making the lives of animals better, folks can rest easy in their armchairs knowing her heart, mind, and most importantly, ACTIONS were focused entirely on rescuing those dogs. That night as she climbed over the fence hearing their screams and many years leading to that night spent trying to reason with the dogs’ owner in addition to formal complaint filing. In a perfect world, I suppose she should have just stolen the animals.

For the inevitable critics, please don’t conflate the outrage surrounding the death of these dogs with lack of interest in human issues. Animal advocates are capable of walking and chewing gum at the same time! Let YOUR actions in regard to those issues speak louder than your criticisms of those whose hearts and lives are dedicated to the welfare of animals. There is, after all, an established connection between the way humans treat animals and the way humans treat one another.

Now the Animal Control? You should be ashamed of yourself. An owner with that many puppies, cages and a ramshackle heat and water system is a PUPPY MILL. What are you waiting on? Him to have 300 puppies?

Last but not least… why isn’t the owner in JAIL??

If it is too cold for humans due to Freezing… Then it is TOO COLD FOR PETS… The so called human that set up this crap for a mother dog and her puppies is responsible for them dying to death by fire… WHEN IS ENOUGH ENOUGH…

Animal Control Officer leaving these dogs without taking them in for protection from the freezing weather is just as guilty…

Sad situation but……Makes me wonder when dogs were created. I want to think dogs have been around awhile. That being said, I highly doubt there were space heaters 200 years ago and highly doubt people brought their animals inside when it was cold. I hate it, and my husband would definitely say something to the guy if he were our neighbors. Please folks calm down.

You don’t leave a frikken space heater in or near a dog house. They have warming pads to use for dogs that have anti chew cords how stupid can people be. If you have to do its that way just bring dogs in basement or garage or better yet not have any at all.

What’s happened to Animal Control? I removed plenty of animals during the 12 years that I worked there during cold weather, are you ACO’s so job scared now or do you just not have any compassion that you just turn your head and look the other way? Thank God I don’t work there anymore, I’d hate to know I had ignored this call and was responsible for this. So ashamed to of our animal control
