Superintendents..escambia and Santa Rosa…..it ain’t the cold weather that I am concerned with sending my child to school. It’s the (BLACK) ice on the roads that should be a concern of both of y’all. He don’t ride the bus, but if mine did he sure wouldn’t be riding it. Think about the bus driver safety, students safety, and other drivers on the road…Did either one of y’all get out at daylight and ride around your county and see how dangerous it was. Let see we had a couple of hours just above freezing and now right back below freezing now. How about both of y’all get up and ride around the north end across the bridges and if you won’t then why jeopardize the safety of anyone. Maybe I need to run for school superintendent. Hmm just a thought. Better hope nothing happens. Everybody be safe and use good judgement.

Each school has better heating systems than we had at Bratt Jr. High School and I guarantee our mother never let us miss school because of freezing weather which we had more often than we do now. Back then students who lived 2 miles and under had to walk or be driven by the parents. Sounds like there are more spoiled parents than children.

When did Americans become so weak? Wrap up, go slow and keep going.
I moved to ND, even the little ones are at the school bus stops in MINUS weather. Florida has a lot to learn, so get use to it. Things will get worse in the next few years.

Makes no since, what’s the difference in today and tomorrow? Black ice still on roadways and severe cold, not to mention how many kids are already fighting the flu outbreak.

Unfortunately, our kids here in North Escambia are the ones that will have to battle terrible weather conditions tomorrow thanks to our superintendent’s questionable decision. Hwy 97 was in much worse shape than Hwy 29 this morning. I Pray for everyone’s safety tomorrow especially the kids.

Mr. Thomas must agree bad call on your part. You are a good man and parent and a grandparent. Seriously though the weather will be the same again in the morning. All news channels with the exception of 3 are reiterating the refreezing of county roads and bridges. Northview High School has all of that and you are expecting our bus drivers and students back on the road….come on to dangerous I say

I will not send my kids out in the cold because my children. Have to catch the bus away from home and have to stand in the cold. With the flu and everything else out i refuse to but my kids at risk.

Mr Thomas shouldn’t you think of the ice melting from today and refreezing tonight cause of the temps that it will cause black ice and it’s even unsafe for the busses to be on the road
