I have been saying the same thing for years in this forum...there is NO law enforcement on Highway 97...NONE. Speeding, passing on yellow lines and tailgating is the everday norm. People driving this road completely ignore all traffic laws. In the 3 years we have lived out here I've seen the FHP or ECSO only twice. I see them all the time sitting on 29 by the in Cantonment by the fire station where I never hear of any wrecks, but never see them on 97 where there are wrecks all the time. Every time I drive Hwy-97, and that’s every time I go anywhere, I get passed if driving under 60 mph and passed in no passing zones often.
There is a huge increase in traffic going to the casino north of Atmore.
Traffic on hwy-97 is seriously dangerious.
