The article does not say anyone was overcharged for official records. It says it had excess revenue of $485K…meaning they fulfilled more record requests that anticipated resulting in more income.

(We thought we would sell 10,000 widgets, but we sold 100,000 widget so we made more $$$)

Taxpayer #2, the article states the excess came from the official records function, not from tags (which is under a different elected official). If anyone should get a refund, it would be those who were overcharged for official records.

We are charged an extra 3.5% to pay fines ect. So they can pay the for processing our payments. So they have fewer employees to pay, no cost to them while we absorb the cost to collect payments.

sounds like they are OVER charging. they need to go back to the old web site for public info. the new one is lousy

Just a known fact. Those 3% cost of living increase that the Board of County Commissioners approves for all county employees, does not include all of the Clerks Office employees. It only includes the non -court side. So that excludes most of the people that work in the M C Blanchard Judicial building. That’s a lot of people.

sadly, It seems like a lot, but it really is not… there are about 300k residents of the county if we assume half of them are actual taxpayers. 914k/150k expect a check for $6.09. and that is before you include the cost to print the check and mail it.
