In your response to Common Sense, you should reread what was written. Common Sense was not proposing such a law, just pointing out that even if it existed, the ones who already break laws would likely break that one too, whereas people who already obey laws are not a threat anyway, just as this convicted felon is forbidden to possess weapons but did anyway.

The purpose was to suggest it would make things worse, not better.

Please let me see if I am following your reasoning. What we are doing now is not keeping guns from felons so we should stay the course. Have I got that straight?

I do understand what you are saying about preventing law abiding citizens from obtaining guns. I own guns. I get it. But the Pulse Nightclub shooter, the dude in Las Vegas, and the guy who killed the people in the church all bought their guns legally, though the Texas guy shouldn’t have been able to. All of them used semi-automatic high powered rifles that are not commonly used for hunting.

I’m not sure that everybody having easy access to guns is making us a lot safer. I’m not saying that if we stopped selling assault type weapons that all our problems would go away immediately, I’m just saying that our problems might stop getting worse.

What we’re doing now is not working.

Thay shouldent have even gave him a bond. Last I herd , choaking somebody was usely charged with atemted murder due to the fact that it dosent take but very few mins and ur dead .

Let me get this straight…there is a LAW that bans possession of guns by a convicted felon (a criminal). He does not obey LAWS. So, if a new law banning all guns were to pass, there are sane people who really believe the felon (a criminal) would obey THAT LAW! People wake up, only the law obeying citizens would be disarmed and criminals would have guns. Even MORE crime would occur!
