The residents that live here are now being limited to one way in or out. The state needs to fix the bridges that are already tore out before closing bridges. Whether it is contract work or not it should not take 12 months to fix any bridge in this county. So the real question is how long is this going to take???? Many days you can drive through these areas and not see a crew working, at the inconvenience of the area residents. I'm sure this has to do with the location of each of these bridges, but that is not an excuse. The citizens of north Escambia County pay their fair share of taxes within the county/state also. Someone needs to get the County Commissioner on point with getting this kick started to completion! Why has the construction/repair/progress of the other bridges that are out taking so long? We fill the jails with non violent criminals at a cost of 50k a year and have no money to fix roads properly. How about this novel idea....stop putting dopes and mopes in jail for fifty years and start building bridges again that can last for fifty years before the next road closing and inconvenience to the taxpayers.
