If you want to vote i a particular party's primary, change your party before the primary, vote, then change it back afterwards. The Universal Primary Contest (created by constitutional amendment in 1998) gives you the right to vote any time a final choice is made on who holds office--be it in a primary or a general election. Florida is and remains a closed primary state. If you want to vote i a particular party’s primary, change your party before the primary, vote, then change it back afterwards.

Nice to want to not be part of either party and feel like you have some strength in doing that but in the end you'll wish you could have "Made your mark" on a primary ballot.
