SLOW DOWN is the real deal here. A wet road on that ramp speeding will put you over the edge every time. The only time I pass by and see accidents there, it’s wet roads involved. Concrete barriers will certainly stop them, but think of how it would direct a vehicle into traffic behind and beside you and smash up someone else or kill others. A concrete barrier along both sides of the road and down the middle may work. They have to slow down to drive and maneuver through the passageway. I’m sure there will be a few scrapes and fender rubs. Look at the Interstate walls crossing over Cervantes Street. Speeding and not paying attention was involved to put all the tire marks on those walls.

Too many people lose control there because they will not follow the speed limit! It is the best place to get run off the road in Pensacola.

The biggest problem is drivers not slowing down. This curve was designed to slow down traffic before the merge but everyone wants to see how fast they can take it. Signs that display your speed, flashing lights- how much more warning can be given that this is a dangerous curve?

Is there a reason they don’t put up concrete barriers in that turn? Too many vehicles lose control there.
