Sweetie,your crazy is showing. Contraband is low because no families visited? Sounds like a great reason to stop visitations totally. Let us remember that they are criminals and are where they are because of their actions. Here’s a novel idea, how about living your life right. You stay out of prison and the DOC can’t stop you from seeing your family. Unbelievable that you blame the co’s or DOC for the criminals not seeing their family. You are what is wrong with society today. Blame everybody else..

They had no valid excuse to cancel visitation. Just being the hateful sociopaths they are. They enjoy being mean and taking away privileges for no reason. They actually lose money by not having visits families spend money on food and pictures. Go check the prisons for contraband now after no visits you can blame your so called heroes for all of it.

Visitation cost the FDOC little to nothing. Most likely they decided to cancel everywhere in order to eliminate the need to make individual decisions on which facilities would have visitation and which wouldn’t.

“This decision was made in response to Hurricane Irma’s impact on Florida’s transportation infrastructure….” (Last time I checked, there was no impact on transportation infrastructure in Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, Walton, and numerous other counties in NW Florida).

………..as well as the storm’s effect on operations at institutional facilities across the state. (There was no effect on operations in the West end of the panhandle. Proven by the fact that Santa Rosa and Wakulla went ahead with job fairs that were previous scheduled for today)

This is nothing more than the FDC using a convenient excuse to cancel visitation everywhere, including Correctional Institutions/Facilities that were not even in the path of the storm, so they can save the money.
