Gib, I think you hit it right on the head, it seems to me the kids are not receiving the proper coaching to be successful. I see the same mistakes being made every Friday night which means coaches are not adjusting and making the necessary changes to help our kids be successful and win. Over half the season is over and we are still searching for a few team leaders that we can count on when our backs are against the wall and the game is on the line.

In a 1-A program, it’s really “take what you can get.” You would be extremely hard-pressed to “recruit” talent in the south end or outside of the county to play at a small school like Northview, whereas it would be significantly easier for those larger programs to entice Northview talent away. At the end of the day, development is the key to success. I have no doubt that there is talent already there that just needs time to develop.

Something has got to give. Every week the comments from the HC are the same. “We made mistakes ” “they were a good team”. The definition of insanity is making the same mistakes over and over and expecting a different result. NHS use to be a power house, with a winning tradition. Just to add, I don’t remember a time Jay has ever been a “big” rivalry over the past 8 years. Something’s got to give. With all the new rules as far as students are allowed to transfer anywhere and play for anybody… we got to start being successful or our football program is going to go to waste.
