There are for sure. many people in this area that are as Barry said….No respect for anyone or anything, including themselves. Laws do not include them, and they have no clue about nature. People throw trash out in my driveway, destroy mail boxes and shine spotlights on people and on their houses. And the cruelty to animals is abhorrent
My mother always taught me to put myself in other people’s place and think how I would like to be treated. I wish everyone had mothers like mine. The world could be such a better place with people that respected other people.

I live on Perdido River and you wouldn’t believe the people that will come to the river and decide that they’ll just float or walk down a ways and get out and walk or float back to where they came from. Most with no life jackets, some with babies and kids that can’t swim. They don’t think about the dense woods, mosquitos, snakes, if they have to get out of the river or the current especially if they’re in a tube trying to get upstream. Basically they don’t think about anything except how much fun it will be to float down the river. A lot of these incidents are alcohol related. Trust me, I live and spend a lot of time on the river and have had to deal with some of these idiots. I thank the FWC for the work that they do to try to keep the public areas open and family oriented. Without these officers patrolling these areas they would be totally trash and out of control and eventually closed down like the areas north of here. There are to many people that live in the Cantonment area that have no respect for other people, laws, or nature, just read or listen to the news. Thanks again to the FWC your presents is appreciated.

I thought the same thing. Sure hope the little kids wore at least life jackets. A canoe will capsize in a minute …. Glad this misguided outing ended well.

so glad they were ok but who in the world would take 2 babies in a canoe in swift watier.if you cant find a baby sitter stay home.that could have ended in tradegy. i just hope they had life jackets on them.

What were they thinking? The river has been out of it’s banks all summer and to take two babies also, unimaginably not Smart !
