My son is a CO and has been assaulted 3 times already (two of these assaults happened when he was coming to the aid of either an inmate or another CO). These assaults have happened in the last two years and none in the previous years. State of Florida is not taking care of it's employees. That would get him more time to serve. I have no clue why DOC uses the term Assault and not Battery. They are very different by Florida Law. One is verbal and the other is physical.
