We will spend 50k a year on putting non violent dopes and mopes in for profit prisons, but we cannot spend probably less than eight hundred dollars a residence to hard wire security video, fire and smoke detectors in every home. A home invader can shoot people dead, and people can die in their home from fire in 2017 and we are still responding with the same with turn of the century deployments. We need to get smart and prioritize life and safety issues for taxpayers rather than continually building prisons, adding more fire personnel, and police. Not a popular opinion, but we can harness technology with investments for citizens, and stop bleeding taxpayers for room and board for dopes and mopes in private prisons.
