Labor Day weekend I was pulled over for my window strip being 3 inches too wide.we were ask to step out of the vehicle,I was embarrassed as we stood in front of the officers suv,I could understand,a warning,or the ticket for that matter,but I could not understand,my tint band being 3 inches too thick,probable cause to searching my vehicle for God only knows what they thought we possible had,but tango which is a beautiful,and smart dog,I just love him.well he was taken around the vehicle 3 rounds,he brushed my truck the the officer loudly says yes!!!??? Then for an hr. I know my vehicle was being totally trashed,my clothes in the ditch for me to pick up,after searching the dog was brought out again,put up then it was researched,and and looked under hood,and under the car.we were cleared,and free to go an hour later with a 116.00 ticket,I lost a day of work,my lunch was no good after the search,nobody offered to help clean up the mess,after nothing was found no apology for the mess,I was just ready to go home,I’ve never been searched before,there for,I was freaking out on why I was being treated like that.Anyway tango did a great job,the officers are very thoruogh during their searchers,thanks to the officers for keeping us,and our roadways safe

@Really??? Don’t be an idiot. I was merely pointing out that the car was what got the attention of law enforcement since the model I drive is favored by criminals. I did not realize this at the time I bought the car, or I might have reconsidered. Not all of the deputies or troopers that I’ve spoken with knew I was in law enforcement. I was simply a middle aged white woman with a clean record, that’s all. The “issue” that I was pulled over for became a non-issue once they spoke with me. The first sentence of my original post said “The strip was an excuse”. I am very PRO law enforcement, but they have to have a reason to pull you over, and that was it for this guy who was arrested. The fact that he was “dirty” is what got him off the streets. Keep up the great work LEO’s!

To “no excuses” … hmmm… let’s see… you get pulled over a lot, then are let go with a mild or no warning when your “brother in arms” finds out you are “in law enforcement”??? How convenvenient and how nice for you!! Confirmx everything I’ve always thought…

Let’s consider the young man. Maybe he can get the help he needs to not use meth. The officer did a great job and could of possibly saved a life.

Evidently this was taken waaay out if context and I apologize if it was written poorly on my part. I absolutely agree that the kid should have been busted and likely should have been before this. To the LEO who spoke up about the stop, you guys generally have better things to worry with than a window strip and it does seem to me a bit of a reach to perform a stop for something that trivial. I know it’s a statute, but if you want to talk statutes, stop these fools running around with non-DOT approved lights(the led headlights are NOT DOT approved and that’s why they blind you) if you want to get down to it, every truck in the county with non-factory exhaust is also in violation of a statute for noise and non-factory type exhaust(yes, that’s also a written law….and it covers Harley’s to Honda’s also) with all the red light bandits and wet weather race cars in the county it would seem easy pickings at any given time but it’s amazing how people get away with garbage on the road with a deputy sitting in the lane next to them as if to dare him to make a stop. Funny how they pick and choose how/when to selectively make a stop or turn the cheek. Statutes? There must must a “statute of the week” drawing to see which one is enforced today? I better stop because the cynical side of me is showing. Meanwhile I’ll go unbolt the exhaust from my truck because I’ll never get stopped for that as long as I don’t have a window strip! Juuuuust kidding!

Good job. Should happen more often. Too many people on meth as it is. Maybe if more people arrested for drugs, would send a message to other to stop. Hit them in their pocketbooks.

I think it’s a good stop . Most likely would have got a warning ,but because of no drivers license ,open the door for search which uncovered the drugs . Great jop of the officer.He covered everything ,left no stone unturned! Well done Sir !!

Thank goodness the officer did stop this stopt for a windshield strip, otherwise he could have killed someone down the road!!! I would love to see more of these kind of stops!!!
