For a time Robert was my closest friend, we traveled together and worked together and created together. He had an urgency for life. He loved his girls Rachael, Cheryl and Sehoy and his tribal heritage. Robert and I had ongoing dialogue about existence, kindness and spiritual mysticism. He believed that our ancestors could communicate with us and, in fact, were communicating with and somehow watching over us. If he were still physically here, he would probably say, "look for me in your dreams, listen to the messages of the earth that is how I will contact you". In a facebook post he wrote: “I often think our bodies are simply Animated clay on the earth, yet we are so much more in spirit.” And so it is.

My wife asked Robert to minister our marriage 13 years ago. He repeated the entire ceremony in the Creek language. It made a very special day even better to us. Definitely a one of a kind person. He will be missed.

I am terribly saddened to learn of Robert's loss. He was an avid student and enthusiastic teacher of Native American and especially Creek history and culture, and he was beloved to all who knew him. I extend my most sincere condolences to his family.

Roberts knowledge of Creek arts and community ways and pride in his ancestral spiritual heritage was quite striking. I'll miss his stories and sense of humor at USET.

Robert was probably the best Indian aid that's ever been at Huxford elementary. Robert love helping the tribal kids accomplish their goals in life. He was always willing to go that extra mile to help in any kind of way possible with his students. Robert can never be replaced for his knowledge, of the Poarch Creek Indians. RIP my friend

Mr. Robert was a huge part of my life growing up, a second father really. I've never known a more kind of gentle person. Unwaveringly devoted to keeping our history and heritage alive, he was a treasure to all who knew him. This world will be a little bit dimmer without his shinning light in it. My deepest sympathies to his girls, miss and love each of you.

Sincere condolences to the family and friends, a tragic loss for the Poarch Band of Creek Indians as a treasure trove of historic Creek culture has left us. Rest in Peace.
