@Puddin,
Please tell me which of these schools in Florida pays teachers a "gross" amount, because I know a bunch of teachers who'd love to work there.
The only thing "gross" about the teacher's salary here in Escambia county is that the teachers have to work 2 jobs to make ends meet.
We should pay those educating and shaping our future world leaders a decent salary instead of expecting them to create geniuses while earning a pittance.

While I'd rather see the money be put to bettering public schools than trying to privatize schools, I do see some good stuff in it. Less standardized testing, recess for the little ones, help for the special needs schools, those are good things. Yet MORE bonus' for already grossly over paid teacher is not great. I'd much rather see the money go to the poorly paid Support people. I dislike the "behind closed doors" part too. It is what it is.

The public education system in Florida is not "struggling to stay alive" and suffering from "starvation". It is fat, bloated, and unwieldy.
