I strongly urge Mayor Hawkins of Century or a Century Town Council member to address the RESTORE staff, as well as to talk with Commissioner Barry, about the “Town of Century Water Quality Improvements Project” that was submitted two years ago but did not make the shortlist of projects to be included in the initial MYIP.
The Town of Century is in great need of water and wastewater infrastructure improvements. Since submission of the project, the wastewater system equipment and infrastructure have further deteriorated requiring frequent repairs/maintenance. Funding for this project is direly needed to replace wastewater lift stations; to repair or replace existing water supply equipment and wastewater treatment equipment; and, to repair leaking and overflowing sewers. The lack of such repairs/replacements could potentially have major adverse consequences throughout the county.

Triumph is totally different Town of Century, they called for project May 2. What are you doing? Oil spill money is not all the same. You must apply or you certainly will get NOTHING!!!

I looked over these projects and the Town of Century’s project for wastewater scored higher than some of these yet was not chosen. They picked a few bozo projects over it. It is much much less $, easily measured and Valid and should be added. Town of Century!!!! Make your comment, stand up. Be informed. Get us on this list. Most are downstream. To gross you out, this is to reduce fecal coliform pollution going into Escambia River. Please write them, email comment. Do not let North Escambia be ignored.
Other who fish and recreate on the river..write them tell them to add Century Water Quality to the list. Steven Barry D5..please advocate and get it on there. It’s important !!!
