Perhaps Mayor Hawkin's idea of a Century Police Dept that let's our revenue come from the steady stream of traffic on 29 could actually work! Meanwhile ECSO, thanks!!!! I love it when I look at the dispatch and see you all make a stop every few minutes for hours at a time!! Hope this pedestrian will be alright, must be quite a scare and horrible thing. People please stop littering through here, We go out and have to pick it up after you and it is dangerous, keep it til you get home or stop at a store and throw it away. I think the sidewalks are too close to highway 29. In other parts of Escambia and Pensacola, the street and road department and political leaders educate themselves on FDOT programs and plan projects for safe roads, sidewalks and bike lanes and put them into five year plans and such. Often a plan is implanted for over head pedestrian walkways if the volume warrants it. It is a cluster at the foot of the overpass coming into the town especially..pedestrians, bicycles, dogs, people going in and out of the grocery store. I hate to hear of yet another pedestrian has been hit in that town. I think people drive too fast and do not pay attention like they should.
